MSA has an opportunity for a Real Estate Professional that can be based out of anywhere in Wisconsin. This position will be directly involved in assisting with the acquisition process of real estate purchases related to Wisconsin transportation projects, with a focus on eminent domain-based right of way acquisition. This position is part of a collaborative Real Estate team that works within a multi-discipline consulting engineer environment. In addition, the opportunity to advance into additional responsibilities and roles through company supported professional development will be encouraged. This listing is for our Madison, WI office.

Responsibilities
The work you may do
• Support activities associated with the negotiation and acquisition process of real estate purchases related to transportation and municipal projects.• Research resource material to identify all affected parties in preparation for negotiations • Draft and finalize letters and documents to be presented to property owners as just compensation packages. • Assist with and/or complete the presentation of just compensation packages to property owners for eminent domain-based transactions• Assist and/or complete negotiations with property owners to reach equitable solutions and settlements that are in the best interests of the general public and acquiring agencies• Prepare and secure properly executed documents required for property acquisitions• Use the WisDOT READs system for appraisal review, document preparation, payment requests, and eminent domain
Qualifications
What you bringSkills & Knowledge / Education & Experience:
• At least 1 year of right of way negotiation and acquisition experience or 2+ years of general real estate experience• A desire to work in a consulting environment required• High school diploma or GED required• The desire and ability to understand the WisDOT Real Estate Program Manual as well as the Federal Uniform Act and Wisconsin Statue Chapter 32• The ideal candidate will have a desire and ability to attend and complete IRWA and other related eminent domain real estate courses in order to further their profession development. • Through professional development, ideal candidate will have a desire and ability to become a WisDOT Approved Negotiator and/or obtain a Real Estate Sales or Broker license. • This position requires you to have authorization to work in the United States for any employer. We will not provide sponsorship for this position.
