Summary

The Forklift Operator is primarily responsible for accurately processing orders per schedule, transporting and staging product, and loading and unloading product and supplies in a safe, efficient and timely manner.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Essential functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

Safely and efficiently operates stand-up and sit-down forklift; performs required daily inspections.
Check availability of materials as listed on the production schedule and notify the Supervisor of any shortages.
Verify production ticket to the pallet and pull finished goods from the packaging line promptly. Transports pallets to shrink wrap area.
Transports needed packaging materials to the production area.
Supplies machine operators with necessary supplies in an efficient and timely manner.
Complies with company safety policies and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures.
Accurately completes required paperwork per company standards.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.

WHAT WE NEED

MUST-HAVES:

HS Diploma or GED.
1 + years recent experience operating Sit Down and Stand-Up reach forklifts in a warehouse environment.
Must be able to meet daily production requirements.
Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Read and comprehend required paperwork.
Writing skills sufficient to complete required paperwork.
Ability to perform basic math skills
Must display a positive attitude and work well with all levels of personnel.
Ability to work well with all levels of employees whether individually or in a team environment.
Effectively communicate questions, problems and reports to co-workers, supervisory and management personnel.
Flexibility to accommodate unscheduled changes in duties and work overtime as needed.

NICE-TO-HAVES:

1+ years operating Sit Down and Stand Up reach forklifts picking and pulling orders, loading and unloading trucks in a fast paced warehouse environment.

WORK CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

Frequently (more than 75% of time) required to: stand and/or walk, use ladders and climb stairs, bend and stoop, reach, push/pull, kneel and crouch. Lift, carry and/or move items up to 100 pounds, without assistance; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls, to verbally communicate; and to hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Frequently exposed to a non-climate-controlled environment.
Frequently (more than 75% of time) exposed to dust and loud noise.
Frequently (more than 75% of time) exposed to machinery and mechanical, moving parts.
Personal protective equipment, such as hearing protection, safety glasses, hair net, and food safety-related items, is required.
