Nature’s World is a Charlie's Produce company and is an employee owned and operated business that started at the Walker Family kitchen table in Lake Tapps, Washington. They have been delivering premium dried fruit, nuts, trail mixes, candies and other snacks since January of 1987. Today the company operates out of Seattle, WA and is seeking a Operations Support Specialist for our Nature World production team.

Additional Compensation Details:
- $23.00 to $25.00 per hour Dependant on Experience and Location of Role
- Potential 90-day performance-based raise
- Yearly review with possibility of increase based on performance and tenure
Responsibilities
The Role
This position contributes to Nature’s World success by accurately entering various data into item spec sheets and other computer programs, preparing and verifying business and or production administrative tasks such as item maintenance, label system, Data Base system, updating the Non-GMO project, along with other tasks as needed. In addition to the development, implementation, validation and verification of the Primus GFS Food Safety Program and the Organics Program. Emphasis is placed on clear communications with a diverse work force.
Responsibilities including, but not limited to:
Data Base Managing Tasks:
- Adding new items and updating information in the database as we receive updates from our vendors (ingredients, nutrition, etc.). Removing information for discontinued SKUs.
- Verify and spell check UPCs/GTINs/Case Pack/Order Codes, ingredients, allergens, COO, nutrition, Charlie’s codes.
- Production sheet maintenance (creating new production sheets, checking formulas/ supplies on second page, including UPC, Charlie’s codes, and adding new/removing old sizes.
- Specification sheet maintenance (updating spec sheets, creating new spec sheets.)
- Create samples (any sales samples requested – weighing, tubbing, organizing samples as they are requested by Sales team and other reps.)
- Bartender (fonts, backs, and case labels.)
- Main contact for vendors re; spec sheets.
Data Management:
- Production sheet maintenance (creating new production sheets, checking formulas/ supplies on second page, including UPC, Charlie’s codes, adding new/removing old sizes.)
- Specification sheet maintenance (updating spec sheets, creating new spec sheets.)
- Samples (any sales samples requested – weighing, tubbing, organizing samples as they are requested by Sales team and other reps.)
- Bartender (fonts, backs, and case labels.)
- Filing, when necessary
Organic Labels and Audit:
- Responsible for making sure all Organic labels are submitted prior to use of product being labeled as Organic.
- Responsible for Organic Audit and work closely with Corporate Organics and SCS Global for Non-GMO status.
Food Safety Duties:
- Works closely with Corporate Food Safety team
- In conjunction with the Food Safety Team, conduct inspections and audits in the production department this includes the FDA and USDA HACCP plans.
- Be the primary contact with the USDA and other regulatory officials for Nature World.
- Works with the product development team and Corporate Food Safety Team to make sure that all regulatory requirements are met.
- Complete a HACCP training course and the PCQI training course. Provided by Nature’s World
- Is an active member of both the Primus GFS and the HACCP teams.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement in all phases of food safety.
- Attends both monthly Corporate Food Safety meeting and Nature’s World Corporate Food Safety meeting.
- Orders/reorders chemical purchases.
- Verify the proof process of all labels printed from our outside suppliers and will create all required label applications required by the USDA.
- Verifies Pre-Op inspections and operational checklist documentation.
- Lead monthly production self-inspections/audits.
- Assist in investigation of food safety related customer complaints with Business Manager.
- Monitors employees and plant operations for compliance to HACCP requirements.
- Lead the sample collection process as required for the micro plan and in-house testing.
- Controls all documentation for regulatory review.
- Verifies accuracy of all monitoring equipment.
- Responsible for food safety and quality training.
- Responsible for keeping up to date with logs.
Peripheral Duties:
- Provide occasional back up in Production as needed (Production Job Analysis will be provided)
- As assigned by Business Manager
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Ten Key by touch
- Attention to details
- One year of data entry experience preferred
- Basic math skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven problem - solving skills able to deal with a variety of details simultaneously
- Basic knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets (Excel)
- Team player
- Stellar communication abilities
- High levels of emotional intelligence
