Designer/Fielder

Description

ISG is seeking a highly motivated Telecommunications Designer/Fielder to join our dynamic and growing team. As a key member, you will contribute to a variety of exciting projects within our Telecommunications + Energy Business Unit, utilizing innovative technology and collaborating with a diverse range of esteemed public and private clients across the nation. You would work closely with Matt Cherek, Telecommunications Practice Group Leader, based in Green Bay. As an ISG employee owner, you will continue to grow in your career. Here are some projects we’ve worked on recently that might give you a better sense of what you’ll be doing day to day:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Interpret and analyze engineering drawings and utility maps
Conduct fieldwork to collect underground and overhead utility data
Utilize GPS products and GIS software, such as Arc Map/ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Field Maps, for data collection
Familiarity with utility design requirements, materials, and plan production
Prepare AutoCAD and GIS utility plans
Manage permit submittals, coordination, and oversight
Design, submit permits for, coordinate, and oversee joint-use projects
Develop make-ready designs and estimates
Conduct utility pole structure loading using O-Calc Pro, SpidaCalc, and PoleForeman
Perform utility pole audits
Coordinate with utility providers
Update as-built records and GIS data
Manage projects and ensure timely completion
Contribute to OSP and ISP network design
Contribute to FTTx network layout and project implementation
Assist in wireless antenna design
Collaborate with other ISG disciplines to create functional, detailed, and sustainable designs

* The above essential duties are skills that a candidate will learn and develop in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

*The below qualifications are desirable; however we are willing to train the right person.

Valid driver's license
Willingness to travel overnight, if required
Previous experience in OSP/ISP projects
Knowledge of copper, fiber, and power distribution systems, preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS
Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Must be a self-starter with good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well within a team to meet project schedules and deadlines
