Construction Materials Senior Engineer

We're seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with a strong background in construction materials testing and special inspections to join our dynamic construction engineering team in Lexington, KY. If you're ready to take charge of complex projects, manage field teams, and deliver exceptional quality and compliance with an employee-owned firm, we'd like to meet you.

As a Senior Engineer in Construction Materials, you will lead and manage mid- to large-scale construction materials testing and inspection projects. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring quality standards are met, maintaining strict adherence to industry protocols, and delivering on client expectations. You'll collaborate with clients, project teams, and lab technicians to achieve project goals and will have opportunities to mentor other team members in client engagement and project management.

Your Day-to-Day:

Client Relations: Work closely with clients to understand their project goals, ensuring top-notch service and results.
Revenue Growth and Networking: Cultivate a local client base and expand professional networks to align with revenue and business goals.
Market Development: Lead local and regional business development initiatives, enhancing visibility through strategic marketing.
Proposals and Estimations: Develop accurate cost estimates and proposals that meet project specifications, building codes, and client needs.

What You Bring:

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil, Mining, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering or closely related field
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Kentucky, or able to obtain your KY PE within 6 months
10+ years of experience in Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspections projects
Strong working knowledge of applicable ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT standards and procedures, IBC Special Inspections, and geotechnical recommendations
Willing to work outside as needed, maneuver equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
