Summary/Objective

The Workplace Operations Technician RF is responsible for assisting in overseeing the safe operation, daily monitoring, and maintenance of refrigeration, HVAC, and electrical systems.
Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work
- Full time: Saturday - Wednesday, 9:30PM - 6AM
- Schedules may shift but employees will be given a notice prior to any change.
Pay
- $35.00 - $45.00 per hour (DOE)
Essential Functions

- Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance of refrigeration storage equipment at multiple locations
- Knowledge of controls and electric (high and low voltage)
- Checking, draining, and filling oil levels as needed
- Oil analysis
- Filter changes
- Checking, adjusting, or replacing all belts as needed
- Checking compressors and cycle operations of each
- Checking condensers and cycle operations of each unit
- Responsible for logging time and materials into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) on a daily basis in the form of work oders, P.M.s. etc.
- Checking, changing, or filling water treatment chemical levels
- Oversee and manager Refrigeration, Electrical, and HVAC systems including monitoring and trending, troubleshooting and repairs (compressors, condensers, fans, heating, cooling, contactors, motors, microprocessors, frequency drives, etc.), leak detection, conducting required inspections and reporting, evaluating and implementing energy management strategies
- Evaluating and reporting equipment condition
- Completes small electrical repairs and brazing projects as needed
- Responsible for daily communication of all pertinent information regarding system operation and maintenance to departmental management and maintenance teams
- Responsible for housekeeping and cleanup of refrigeration machine rooms, refrigeration maintenance areas, and all project areas on a daily basis
- Required to interpret and understand plans and specifications, schematics, operating and maintenance manuals, etc. for systems being overseen
- Checking condition of the freezer and cooler curtains
- HVAC system inspections, adjustments, repairs and maintenance
- Usage of HVAC automated management systems for monitoring
- Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring in HVAC equipment
- Carry out preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on HVAC equipment
- Appliance repairs as directed
- Performs all other duties as assigned, including non-refrigeration tasks like facility, light carpentry, light plumbing, changing of light bulbs, and repair of minor electrical devices
- Maintain all tools and equipment in clean, safe working order
- Maintain technical skills and required certifications to perform job duties
- Complete/close tickets or work orders (must be able to manage open tickets and document completed tickets in system).

Work Environment
This job operates in a commercial building setting. This role routinely uses a wide variety of hand and power tools, measurement tools, computer systems, ladders, and requires working in utility rooms, rooftops, and office spaces. Work requires exposure to extreme cold and heat and working around noise, dirt, dust, grease, and high voltage wires.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibility.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel
Travel between 2-3 sites in the Greater LA area.
Required Education And Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- HVAC/R tech school preferred
- 4+ years of HVAC/R experience; or equivalent combination of education and related experience
Certificates, Licenses, And Registrations
- Must possess a valid State Driver’s License
- Universal EPA certification
- FLS certification is a plus
