Dental Hygiene Instructor (Full-Time)

Location: San Antonio, TX | Campus: On-Site

Schedule: Day Shifts (Monday – Friday)

Compensation: $31.00 – $38.75 per hour

Position Summary

Shape the future of dental care by becoming a Full-Time Dental Hygiene Instructor at Pima Medical Institute! Are you ready to transition your clinical mastery into a rewarding academic career?

In this full-time 40-hour per week daytime role, you will guide students through a rigorous CODA-accredited curriculum across classroom, lab, and clinical environments. This Monday through Friday schedule offers a stable, predictable routine—allowing you to move away from the traditional clinical grind while remaining at the forefront of dental hygiene education and mentoring the next generation of professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Delivery & Classroom Leadership:

Engaging Teaching: Prepare and deliver high-quality daily lesson plans, lectures, and active learning activities in a classroom setting aligned with course objectives.
Academic Monitoring: Track student progress, identify learning gaps early, and provide targeted tutoring or intervention for at-risk students.
Clinical & Lab Supervision: Provide expert chairside guidance in preclinical and laboratory environments, reinforcing didactic concepts through hands-on practice.

Compliance & Program Administration:

Accreditation Support: Assist in continuous curriculum evaluation and accreditation reporting to maintain CODA program standards.
Administrative Integrity: Maintain precise and timely student attendance, grade books, and academic records per institutional and CODA policies.
Professional Mentorship: Deliver constructive, substantive evaluations that build student clinical confidence, critical thinking, and professional development.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree (Baccalaureate) from an academic institution accredited by an agency recognized by the USDE or CHEA.
Program Graduate: Graduation from a CODA-accredited Dental Hygiene or Dental program.
Clinical Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of full-time clinical experience as a Dental Hygienist or Dentist.
Licensure: Current, active Texas state license to practice dental hygiene or dentistry, plus all state-required credentials (including CPR certification).
Technical Literacy: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel) and Google Workspace.
