ConMet - Monroe, NC – Machine Shop Maintenance Technicians will participate in all aspects of maintenance, conducting inspections and major equipment repairs to ensure equipment always meets ConMet standards for quality and production rate. Qualified candidates must be highly motivated, willing to perform hands-on applications involving electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
2nd or 3rd shifts available.
Key Duties
- Regularly surveys all processes, including annual maintenance routines for major equipment.
- Expedites work in response to equipment failures, performing inspections and determining corrective actions.
- Experience with troubleshooting, repair, teardown and restoration of large CNC cells is preferred.
- Experience with maintenance of conveyor systems and hydraulic and pneumatic assembly equipment is highly desired.
- Repairs plant equipment in regard to all production machines, fixtures, tooling, and facility necessaries.
- Fabricates and welds components as needed.
- Fills out work orders and assists equipment vendors on-site as needed.
- Assists in assuring all equipment is safe to operate. Replaces or repairs machine guards or malfunctioning equipment as needed.
- Uses micrometers, calipers, and other gauges required to inspect components during assembly.
- Willing to operate a forklift.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and other technical drawings.
- Ability to use Multimeter for diagnosis of issues and hand tools proficiently.
- A willingness to support maintenance activities on other shifts and on weekends as production schedules require.
- Must uphold OSHA safety policies, including Control of Hazardous Energy procedures (Lockout / Tagout).
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Preferred Background:
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in plant maintenance is highly preferred. In lieu of experience, technical training (i.e. mechatronics)
- CNC experience
- Ability to troubleshoot PLC
- Electrical experience
- Ability to read schematics
- Automation experience (robotics and troubleshoot sensors, etc.)
- Prior exposure to Lockout/Tagout
