Aviation Engineer

We are seeking a highly qualified Aviation Engineer in the Huntsville, AL area supporting a Project Office at Redstone Arsenal. Candidates should have excellent organizational and communication skills as the candidate will work closely with the Program Manager, other engineers, pilots, technicians, government contracting agencies, and vendors to ensure program success. Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

Identify platform requirements and match against existing data link/communication system capabilities
Investigate materiel solutions to determine if solutions meet requirements
Perform evaluations on new materiel solutions to meet evolving mission requirements.
Act as frequency spectrum manager Track and validate modification status of fixed wing aircraft.
Support sensor integration activities for fixed wing aircraft.
Coordinate Airworthiness Release (AWR) activities between the Fixed Wing Project Office, Army Airworthiness authority, and other applicable organizations.

Required Skills

Understanding of existing data link systems and capabilities (COMMS/Data Link)
Ability to communicate to leadership on both technical and programmatic issues
US citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or related technology (Computer Science, Information Technology) degree and 10 years relevant experience is required
Familiarity with integration of aviation communications, data links, and sensors (e.g., Link-16, Comms, SAR, ELINT, COMMINT)

Desired Qualifications

Knowledge of Army ISR sensors and Process, Exploitation, and Dissemination (PED) pathways
TS/SCI Clearance
