Torch Technologies is seeking an individual to develop, construct, test and maintain data architectures and data management systems in support of USSPACECOM. This position will work across a broad range of issues by developing, constructing and maintaining large-scale data processing systems to collect data from a variety of structured and unstructured data sources, store data in a scale-out data lake, and using ELT techniques, prepare the data for exploration and analytic modeling.

Job Responsibilities:

Ensure data architecture will support the requirements of USSPACECOM
Assist with raw data validation and formatting
Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for data acquisition.
Recommend and implement ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality
Develop data set processes for data modeling, mining, and production
Develop and maintain large-scale data processing systems for preparing structured and unstructured data for analytic modeling
Collect data from a variety of traditional and non-traditional sources, store it in a data repository, cleanse and integrate the data for analysis
Support USSPACECOM in the data architecture, development, and application of capabilities development. Specific supporting tasks include recommending solutions, particularly cloud technology and data management solutions

The candidate should have a demonstrated experience in designing, building and managing information and big data infrastructures, developing architecture to help analyze and process data, and optimizing those systems to perform smoothly. A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience data wrangling raw data using algorithms into predefined data structures.

Specific Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ experience with Big data, data warehousing, and IT and information systems/management
Be familiar with Hadoop, SQL, and Python
Be familiar with ELT techniques
Demonstrated experience providing briefings, presentations and reports to senior level military personnel
Possess critical thinking and strong math skills
Ability to develop and utilize appropriate data collection techniques to design, build, and brief recommendations to senior leaders
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; and maintain good working relations
Possess a DOD Secret level clearance, and possess the ability to gain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Requirements:

Possess a TS/SCI clearance
Possess previous Space experience at operational/theater level (e.g. Combatant Command, Joint/Combined Task Force, Component)
Possess experience in supporting USSPACECOM, AFSPACE, NAVSPACE or SMDC/ARSPACE operations and/or exercises
Be familiar with SAS and R
Experience working on classified networks and interfacing with military staffs at the operational and strategic level
Machine learning experience
Cloud employment experience
Artificial Intelligence experience
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Statistics, or related discipline strongly preferred

Salary Range - Colorado: $110,000-$135,000

The salary range information is a general guideline only. Several factors can influence the salary for a position including but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, geographic location, business considerations, scope and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications .
