Material Mover

DSG is seeking a Warehouse Associate: Material Mover in our Sioux Falls, SD location. In this full time, hourly position, work is typically performed between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday, but may vary on occasion according to business needs. As a Material Mover, you will be responsible for all aspects of warehouse operations, including but not limited to: material moving, shipping and receiving, product storage, order fulfillment, and maintaining a safe, clean and organized work environment.

A Typical Day in the Life of a Material Mover at DSG:

Operate material handling equipment, such as gas and electric forklifts, pallet jacks and order pickers to move product to and from designated locations
Unload product from trucks, trailers, or other transportation vehicles
Verify the quantity and quality of product
Store product in designated locations, utilizing proper labeling techniques
Pick and pack outbound materials based on orders and transfers
Stage materials for shipment or delivery
Notify inventory control about shortages or overages in inventory
Use computer and/or RF scanner to check on status, availability and location of product
Maintains proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required
Frequently communicate with fellow employee owners regarding product storage, staging and loading
Perform any other duties as assigned

A Successful Material Mover Typically Has:

Basic product and warehouse or delivery knowledge that would normally be acquired in one to three years of applicable experience.
Prior experience operating material handling equipment, especially forklifts (preferred).
Attention to detail.
Organizational skills and an ability to prioritize tasks.
Warehouse safety training.
Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
The physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis, and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis.
Prior computer knowledge, experience and skills.
