Job Title: Painter
FLSA Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt
SUMMARY
Applies powder paint to product to assure color and mill thickness meets the specification of the requirement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- 10% - Checks line for powder tag regarding paint specification.
- 10% - Load paint into hopper to assure color specifications are obtained.
- 15% - Maintains process control to assure part preparation and product finish will be within quality limits.
- 45% - Assures powder application is appropriate to guarantee mill coverage.
- 10% - Cleans equipment and booth to prepare for the next application.
- 5% - Prepares surface of objects to be painted.
- 5% - Contacts supervisor on any maintenance items that will affect the quality of the product, or put a fellow employee in an unsafe situation.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to five years liquid/powder painting experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
