Workers' Compensation Claim Supervisor – Hybrid (St. Louis, MO)
We are seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Claim Supervisor to join our team in St. Louis, MO. This is a hybrid position with a flexible schedule after initial training. You will oversee a team of 5 employees, managing claims across multiple accounts with a focus on IL and MO jurisdictions.
In this role, you will be responsible for investigating, adjusting, and supervising assigned claims, ensuring high-quality service in alignment with CCMSI’s Corporate Claim Standards. You will also play a key role in training and mentoring newer adjusters, providing guidance on multitasking, patience, and maintaining an open mind while handling complex claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee claims for multiple accounts in IL and MO jurisdictions.
- Supervise a team of 5 employees, ensuring claims are handled efficiently and effectively.
- Train and mentor newer adjusters, fostering their development and helping them build key skills.
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure all claims adhere to CCMSI’s Corporate Claim Standards and client expectations.
- Potential regional travel for meetings and claim reviews as required.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of Workers' Compensation Claim experience, with a strong preference for experience in MO and/or IL claims.
- 3+ years of previous supervisory experience is preferred.
- AIC, CPCU, or ARM designations preferred.
- Strong skills in communication, listening, writing, and multitasking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to maintain patience and an open mind while training newer adjusters.

Responsibilities
- Review, assign and provide supervision of all claim activity for designated claims to ensure compliance with Corporate Claim Standards, client specific handling instructions and in accordance with applicable laws.
- Investigate, evaluate and adjust assigned claims in accordance with established claim handling standards and laws.
- Reserve establishment and/or oversight of reserves for designated claims within established reserve authority levels.
- Provide oversight of medical, legal, damage estimates and miscellaneous invoices to determine if reasonable and related to designated claims. Negotiate any disputed bills or invoices for resolution.
- Authorize and make payments of claims in accordance with claim procedures utilizing a claim payment program in accordance with industry standards and within established payment authority.
- Negotiate settlements in accordance within Corporate Claim Standards, client specific handling instructions and state laws, when appropriate.
- Assist designated claim staff in the selection, referral and supervision of designated claim files sent to outside vendors. (i.e. legal, surveillance, case management, etc.)
- Direct handling of designated litigated and complex claims.
- Provide education, training and assist in the development of claim staff.
- Review and maintain personal diary on claim system.
- Supervision of all claim activity for specified accounts.
- Compliance with Corporate Claim Handling Standards and special client handling instructions as established.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
10 + years claim experience is required.
Three years supervisory experience is preferred.
Computer Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
AIC, CPCU, or ARM preferred
