The ideal candidate will have significant experience in structural design using Autodesk, Revit, and BIM, along with experience mentoring of newer design staff. In this role the candidate will work directly with senior structural engineers and designers to support our multidisciplinary engineering and project management teams through design and layout of projects for facilities primarily serving the water and wastewater industries.

In this role, your responsibilities will include drafting and design support for the structural discipline from conceptual through detailed design development, development of contract drawings using 2D and 3D design approaches, BIM design, and bid package preparation. Project design work will include layout of structural elements, development of structural details and preparation of completed structural drawings for environmental facilities. You will be responsible for development and adherence of BC drafting and design standards, as well as those imposed by our clients.
We are looking for candidates who have a passion for building things, meeting new people, mentoring staff, and collaborating with seasoned professionals who perform structural work for industrial and municipal projects, and other environmental work.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Setup, develop and maintain Autodesk, Revit and Bentley projects’ structural design documentation
- Prepare 3D structural systems REVIT designs on projects for municipal or industrial clients
- Preparation of 3D/BIM structural layouts from conceptual information to final construction documents
- Coordinate design efforts with other designers and engineers
- Coordination with other disciplines models to develop plans and sections for design projects
- Coordinate design and model changes with other disciplines
- Mentor newer designer staff regarding the drawing layout process and its functionality
- Assist in development of standards and tutorials
- Collaborating with a national team of technical experts in the structural design group
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a structural designer for municipal water/wastewater and/or other large scale, multi-disciplinary projects
- Production experience in 3D/BIM design with experience in 3D modeling using REVIT
- Associates or Bachelors degree preferred
- Experience and knowledge of document control software such as ProjectWise or Egnyte
- Experience with Autodesk construction cloud and utilizing cloud-based models
- Proficient in using Autodesk or Bentley for creating design and construction drawings
- Experience in Bluebeam
- Strong knowledge of drafting standards typically used by large municipal organizations
- Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and verbally
- High level of communication and strong writing skills
