Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $125,000.00 annually. Salary will be dependent upon experience.
Job Summary:
Working in a collaborative manner with Matrix civil engineers, planners, and technical staff the ideal candidate would have knowledge and a background in project management, leading and coordinating project teams, and creative design. Experience in managing and directing the preparation of plans, drawings, submittals, and related documents for a variety of public and private projects; experience in construction drawings and construction administration is required.
Essential Functions:
- Preparation and coordination of conceptual, schematic, and construction documents for a variety of water resources projects.
- Preparation of construction details and technical specifications.
- Preparation of project presentations and supporting communications.
- Managing and leading a diverse team of engineers and scientists in a multi-discipline firm.
- Leading in the preparation of project submittals, proposals, budget review, and quality control.
- Creating client business planning strategies and pursuit plans for new water resources projects
- Providing project and task management; conducting difficult to complex process engineering for both projects and proposals; collecting, assimilating, and presenting data in reports, memos and public forums; leading production of design calculations and technical reports; and leading preparation of engineering plans and specifications.
Expand technical knowledge and professional network by attending seminars, workshops, and conferences, reviewing professional publications, and actively participating in State and/or National professional associations through committee involvement and technical presentations.
Competencies:
- Exceptional engineering planning and design skills.
- Successful completion of water resource projects from preliminary planning through final design and construction observation for a variety of public and private clients.
- Capacity to integrate multi-disciplinary project approach with planners, engineers, architects, and environmental scientists.
- Subject matter expert in the FEMA floodplain and hazard mitigation process desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, hydraulics/hydrology, and other technical sub-specialty software.
- Excellent verbal, written and graphic communication skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Will be responsible for supervising, managing, and directing the technical oversight of tasks and responsibilities for Water Resources staff for a variety of public and private sector projects related to water resources.
- May supervise 2 to 5 technical staff
Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree from accredited program in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- Master’s degree in water resources, hydrology, geomorphology, or related field preferred.
- Constructed and accomplished project related experience.
- Arizona, Colorado, or Texas Professional Licensure or the ability to acquire within 3 months.
- A Minimum of twelve (12) years of progressive civil engineering experience including stream restoration, floodplain analysis, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, and urban storm water management with public and private clients.
- Existing relationships in Colorado, Texas, and/or Arizona preferred
- Valid driver's license, in conjunction with successfully passing the Company’s MVR.
