The research coordinator will work closely with the research team to support in planning and implementing research projects related to transportation, public health, and the environment. In this role, the coordinator will support all steps in the research process, from research design to outreach, participant recruitment, data collection, and analysis and reporting. The role is ideal for someone who is excited about applying knowledge in social science methods and statistical approaches to answer client research questions, and to address practical challenges of day-to-day project implementation. Our team focuses on understanding client needs and offering innovative approaches to research and robust methodology consistent with PRR’s values of teamwork, equity, inclusion, integrity, curiosity, and evolution.
This hybrid position provides flexibility to work remotely, with the expectation of some in-person work in our downtown Seattle office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with research team to design, develop, and implement multiple research projects, including attending regular meetings with project teams, and managing tasks and projects to meet deadlines and budget goals
- Coordinate research tasks, such as creating recruitment materials, working with vendors, programming online surveys and other data collection tools, supporting interviews and focus groups, and communicating with participants by answering inquiries and sending reminders, and managing practical challenges of day-to-day project implementation
- Contribute to analysis and research reports under the supervision of a research associate, such as data cleaning and data management, analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, and creating charts and data visualizations to communicate results and highlight key insights
- Support efforts to engage key audiences in client campaigns, including marginalized and historically disadvantaged communities and people who use languages other than English
- Maintain effective working relationships, confidentiality, and high-quality control standards for all communications with project teams, clients, vendors, and communities by collaborating with supervisor, project managers, and research leads to troubleshoot and provide the best possible solutions to clients.

Skills and Attributes
- Familiarity with and working knowledge of social science research methods, including familiarity with various forms of quantitative and qualitative data, data collection methods (such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, usability testing, etc.), and research ethics
- Demonstrated experience and/or coursework related to data analysis, data visualization, and statistics
- Familiarity with statistical software or programming languages (Stata, SPSS, R, etc.) and research tools (Qualtrics, Tableau, Alchemer, etc.) is desirable
- Understanding of issues related to transportation and mobility (such as equity, public transit, and local and regional growth planning), and/or health and environment (such as sustainability, public health, and healthcare)
- Ability to gather information from multiple resources and perspectives, and think critically and creatively to generate research questions and approaches to address client needs
- Experience with strategies and approaches that engage people who use languages other than English, are Black, Indigenous, and people of color, or from other marginalized identities and/or underserved communities
- Excellent time and project management skills, including ability to work independently and on a team, manage multiple projects and deadlines, work collaboratively with people of diverse backgrounds
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote/hybrid professional environment
- Ability to read, speak, and communicate in English is required, and ability to speak languages other than English is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required
Experience/Education
- This position is designed for a recent college undergraduate or a graduate student in sociology, communications, marketing, political science, public health, or other social sciences with coursework in research methodology or statistics, or someone with equivalent experience

- Experience working in customer or client service and/or the public sector is plus
Billability/Utilization
In this role, your time will largely be spent working on projects and billing your time to clients. Approximately 90% of your time in this role should be billed to projects. Any non-billable time would be billed to the company to complete company activities, attend company events, and participate in growth and development opportunities. Our staff track and report their time spent on projects and company activities daily.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $78,000.00 per year. We aim to hire new employees between $65,000 - $70,000 allowing future compensation growth within the range based on aptitude in the role and context, and progress and performance against goals over time.
