About being our Electrical Construction Inspector

As our Electrical Construction Inspector, you will join the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) project team of 40+ planners, architects, engineers, and other technical professionals to plan & design their next wave of capital investments, including airfield improvements, terminal improvements, infrastructure improvements, and more.

Responsibility Highlights for our Electrical Construction Inspector

Ability to diagnose violations and hazards in new and existing electrical/IT installations and take a proactive approach during construction
General understanding of low voltage systems including fire/life safety and information technology
Ability to read and interpret contract documents, electrical codes, applicable standards. Electrical/IT
Inspectors must have the ability to set priorities, the ability to make decisions and work effectively with minimal supervision, the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with LAWA stakeholders, contractors, construction workers, the public and must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.

Minimum Qualifications to be our Electrical Construction Inspector

High school diploma or GED
Current ICC Certification as a Commercial Electrical Inspector
3+ years' experience performing electrical/IT inspections
3+ years' experience with airfield lighting
Proof of NFPE-70E standards (Completion of training must have been achieved within the last 3 years)
30-hour Cal-OSHA training prior to assignment. (The 30-hour training will have been received within the last 4 years)
Thorough knowledge of the methods, materials and techniques of the electrical/IT trade

Competitive compensation (Prevailing Wage for Southern California is $60.96/hour General prevailing wage determination made by the Director of Industrial Relations pursuant to California Labor Code part 7, chapter 1, article 2, sections 1770, 1773 and 1773.1 for commercial building, highway, heavy construction and dredging projects.)
