Summary
The Benefits and Wellness Specialist is responsible for administrating comprehensive benefits programs and partnering with employee experience initiatives to support Tech Etch'stalent attraction, retention, and engagement strategies. The BWS assists with developing and maintaining employee benefit procedures based upon applicable federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations. Additionally, this role is responsible for researching and analyzing healthcare plans, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance to help design a comprehensive benefits package to meet the needs of a changing workforce. This role steps beyond traditional benefits administration and puts a focus on building and maintaining a total rewards program that fosters employee satisfaction and well-being.
Essential Functions
- Oversee onboarding processes related to benefits administration and ensure seamless transitions for new employees.
- Wellness and Employee Engagement - analyze existing benefit policies to establish competitive benefit programs that enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Benefits Oversight and Compliance
- Coordinate retirement and stock ownership plan activities, enrollments/terms, loan coordinationwith vendor, invoices, and communication to employees. Distribute required certifications.
- Enter Benefit additions into HRIS, calculate benefits owed during leaves of absence, and enterterminations of benefits in the system.
- Reconcile benefit invoices and act as needed to make adjustments.
- Communication and Collaboration with employees and vendors
- Lead annual open enrollment processes, including employee communications, educational sessions, and enrollment monitoring.
- Build and maintain relationships with health and retirement plan providers; partner with external third-party administrators for the day-to-day administration of benefit plans.
- Data Gathering and Analysis of benefit trends and market data
- Analyze benefits trends and market data to ensure Tech Etch remains competitive in attracting and retaining top talentthrough our total rewards package.
- Evaluate the costs and benefits of wellness programs, life insurance, and employee assistance programs. Run reports on utilization and recommend enhanced communication materials to increase utilization.
Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or relevant HR Certifications.
- Minimum of 5 - 10 years’ experience in benefits administration and wellness programs.
- Strong analytical, communication and customer service skills to convey with all stakeholders across the organization.
- Detail-oriented, organized approach to ensure accuracy in managing data and reporting.
- Ability to identify and solve problems related to benefits administration effectively.
- Intermediate/proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office and HRIS system.
- Emotional intelligence and conflict management skills to build trust and manage relationships effectively.
- Collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Creativity and innovation to develop and implement employee experience initiatives that enhance engagement and satisfaction.
- Work independently under general supervision.

- Part-time position, three days per week with 25-28 hrs.
