What we are looking for

SCS Engineers is looking for a Senior Project Scientist for our Madison, Wisconsin, office. You will be expected to provide both draft and final reports to the Project Manager or Project Director for review and acceptance prior to providing such deliverables to private and municipal clients. You will serve as a delegated Project Lead on one or more projects. Your work will focus on environmental services with opportunities to contribute to a diversity of projects, including solid waste. You can be hybrid in the Madison Office.

Be an active team member in participating in all aspects of project work, business development, improving our technical capabilities, and ensuring our work is completed safely and according to our quality management system.
Coordinate and manage field work associated with their projects.
Lead, mentor, and manage junior level staff.
Delegate portions of project deliverables to staff for completion.
Serve as the primary lead and point of contact for small to large scope projects.
Prepare proposals and associated cost estimates.
Review data collected during field work, which could include, but not limited to: soil characteristics, lithology, groundwater or surface water data, photographs, or summaries of visual observations through photograph and written field logs in accordance with standard operating procedures as needed. Prepare or coordinate the preparation of report exhibits including tables, figures, calculations, and report appendices.
Evaluate and interpret data recorded during field work for reporting purposes and to determine future project needs.
Prepare and review technical reports.
Act as client liaison when needed by communicating with clients for field work coordination, project updates, reporting, design document status, permitting status, and meetings.
Prepare and review proposals and reports such as Phase I, II, and III environmental site assessments (ESAs), soil management plans, remedial action plans, vapor intrusion assessments, emissions, groundwater, and compliance reporting.
Lead applicable permit processing/regulatory agency coordination efforts.
Review technical documents to ensure completeness and conformance to requirements.
Actively attend networking events, regulatory committee meetings, trade shows and participate in other business development activities, present on technical topics, and be involved in professional and trade associations, committees, or networking groups.
Lead or have an active role in client prospecting and developing and executing client plans, sales plans, and key opportunity plans.

Qualifications

Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or Science required.
Minimum of 15 years of relevant environmental experience required.
40 Hour HAZWOPER preferred.
Valid Driver's License with a driving record in good standing required.
Ability to complete occasional field work (<10%) with limited overnight stays.

Pay Range

USD $90,000.00 - USD $90,000.00 /Yr.
