Our Private Sector Business Unit is looking for a Senior Remediation Engineer with site investigation and/or remediation experience including complying with the Texas Risk Reduction Program to join our team in Houston, TX. Detailed Description:
Primary responsibilities will include providing technical and regulatory support for our client’s site investigation/remediation projects, project delivery, and maintaining client relationships. We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record of executing and managing environmental services in the private sector that includes experience with the Texas Risk Reduction Program. In this role you will work closely with client contacts and project managers around the company.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Work closely with technical staff and client service managers to provide technical expertise on the characterization and investigation of impacted environmental media (e.g., soil and groundwater), evaluating and developing remedy alternatives to address the impacts, solid waste, regulatory compliance as it specifically relates to the Texas Risk Reduction Program, Texas Voluntary Clean-Up Program, and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act projects
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level staff to support technical understanding and career development in site investigation and remediation work
- Build relationships with existing and new clients
- Help develop business opportunities with new and existing clients
- Stay abreast of local, state, and federal regulations and educate staff and clients on new opportunities and solutions
- Support clients in negotiations with regulatory agencies
- Determine the nature, extent, fate, and transport of contaminants at environmental sites
- Work independently, exercising professional judgment to develop remedy solutions that meet client expectations and goals
- Ensure teams are providing quality services, and clarity of work products and projects while promoting and integrating companywide initiatives and values
- Participate in improving company resources and tools to improve efficiency
- Prepare and make presentations to clients and for use in professional meetings
- Direct the work of others and coordinate with other disciplines
- Position may include responsibilities such as supervising, delegating, mentoring, and overseeing the work of technical staff and engineers
- Coach and mentor less experienced technical staff
- Prioritize health and safety practices throughout all aspects of your work and the work of project teams
Desired Skills and Experience:
- B.S. in engineering, environmental science, geology, or related discipline required; M.S. degree preferred
- Minimum of 9 years of professional related experience required
- Knowledgeable with local, state, and federal environmental rules and regulations including the Texas Risk Reduction Program, Texas Voluntary Clean-Up Program, and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act
- Experience supporting environmental and permitting projects conducted at petrochemical and refinery facilities
- Experience in the consulting field preferred
- Licensed in Texas as a Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer required
- Strong verbal and written (technical writing) communication skills required
- Highly responsive, capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities
- Positive, can-do attitude, flexible and self-motivated, and have an attention to detail
- Must have a proven record of working with clients and delivering projects successfully, profitably, and to the client’s satisfaction
- Periodic travel and field work is anticipated
- Maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card or have the ability to obtain one within two months of employment
- Maintain a valid driver’s license, and good driving record required
Salary:
Location B: $160,000 - $219,000
