Job Description

The Machinist tends to or operates fabrication machines, CNC lathes, automated drill presses, mills, shot blast machines, drill and tap machines, forming machines, vibratory machines, belt sanders, grinders, wire wheel and punches that cut, shape, and clean/finish die cast parts.

Essential Duties:

Operates manual or automated machines, including CNC lathes and milling centers and robot load/unload stations under direct supervision of a lead person or supervisor.
Cleans and inspects manufactured products as required by supervisor.
Loads and unloads parts into machine work holding devices.
Performs quality inspections to verify part conformance to specifications. Includes CMM operation.
Records QA/SPC/VSPC Data as required by individual job/part numbers.
May perform hand or power debur or sanding operations to meet customers specifications.
Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, greasing chucks filling coolant, and changing fitters.
Operators will not perform setup or programming of CNC machinery, but may set up simple grinding, sanding, de-burring, equipment, and wash and package parts as required by product instructions. May stack, mark, pack and transport finished product, utilizing pallet jack or forklift.

Education and/or Experience:

Technical school and/or one-year production experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Wages

New hires generally start at $22.00 per hour.
Salary range for this role is $22.00 to $35.00.

General Description of all Benefits: Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, EAP, HSA, FSA, prescription drug coverage, basic life and accident insurance, and STD and LTD benefits. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan.

Employees will receive vacation based on their length of service as explained below. Employees will receive sick time at the rate of one hour of sick time for every hour worked. Employees receive 10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.

Vacation accrual is as follows based on the employee's length of service.

0-4 years accrues at 1.54 hours per week worked with an annual accrual of 80 hours maximum.
5-14 years accrues at 2.31 hours per week worked with an annual accrual of 120 hours maximum.
15-19 years accrues at 3.08 hours per week worked with an annual accrual of 160 hours maximum.
20 years or more accrues at 3.85 hours per week worked with an annual accrual of 200 hours maximum.

General Description of Other Compensation: ConMet provides a monthly wellness credit for up to $50 for eligible gym or fitness related expenses. Participation (100% company paid) in the ConMet/Amsted Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP). Annual bonuses, if company financial targets are achieved. Tuition reimbursement program.
