Summary:
The Business Development Senior Coordinator is responsible for supporting the activities of the business development team. This group leads teams toward the completion of successful proposals. Support includes daily RFP/RFQ distribution, database updating, coordinating go-no go process, writing of project descriptions and resumes, copy editing/proofreading, proposal production/printing and delivery, completion of requests for information for subconsultant teams, and other administrative tasks as assigned by the Business Development group. The Business Development Senior Coordinator must be a detail-oriented self-starter who can work independently and with large teams. They must be able to manage multiple projects at once and thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
This position is a member of a collaborative business development team for a full-service communications firm with both government and private clients. Duties and responsibilities:
Business development
- Write and coordinate updates of staff bios, resumes, project descriptions, etc.
- Collect, organize, and edit approach, management, and staffing text for use in proposals
- Copy edit/proofread content
- Search for, evaluate, and distribute RFP, RFQ, RFI, and work order requests through multiple websites and online portals
- Long-term tracking of potential new business
- Manage requests for information from teaming partners, customize resumes and project examples, gather standard text and work with internal team to review submission before sending
- Production, assembly, and distribution (mailing) of final documents (print and electronic)
- Enter, update, and maintain database records in CRM, including boilerplate content files
- Run and distribute reports from CRM
- Train internal team members on use of database
- Lead proposal closeout process
- Partner with market development leads on new business pursuits
- Maintain business development archive including pursuit folders, graphics, information on competitors, and business development processes
- Information gathering projects, as assigned
- Help plan for and organize conferences
- Assist with general office duties, as assigned
Productivity/efficiency
- Develop improved methods to organize and access collateral, information, and project archives
Quality Assurance
- Set and maintain high, error-free standards for all communications
- Provide timely and accurate response to information requests
- Proof and edit all work products prior to distribution
- Ensure information kept in database and boilerplate files is accurate and well written

Experience/education:
- 2+ years of experience providing support to marketing/business development or management level team, education and/or internship experience can be substituted for years of experience
- Experience within consultant firm or the A/E/C industry
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, English, journalism, or equivalent experience preferred
Skills required:
- Proficient with MS Office products including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Adobe InDesign skills preferred, but not required
- Experience with Deltek or a CRM database a plus
- Ability to translate complex information into everyday English
- Ability to cope with distractions and handle numerous tasks simultaneously
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment

Compensation
The full salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year. We aim to hire new employees between $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year (depending on experience) allowing for future compensation growth within the range based on aptitude in the role, context, progress, and performance against goals over time.
