The Quality Engineer is responsible for coordinating quality assurance activities as it relates to product quality. This position will perform product and process auditing and inspection activities, participate on new product teams, provide excellent customer communications, be able to problem solve and issue corrective actions, as well as conduct and/or participate in customer and internal audits.
This position will be based at ConMet's plastics assembly plant in Chillicothe, Ohio. This is a first shift opening.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinates with customers and manages the assigned customer deck. This is a cradle to grave responsibility.
• Provide quality auditing, audit direction, monitoring, reporting and problem-solving support to all company functions.
• Set part quality standards, working with the customer and new product teams to determine requirements. Provide boundary samples and visual aids for part acceptability determination.
• Support program launch and APQP process.
• Develop and implement quality changes and process improvements.
• Manages Safe Launch activities. Prepares and sends out daily reports to management of Safe Launch/Hold activities.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree
• Three years' minimum experience in Quality Assurance; plastic molding, assembly and automotive experience a plus
• Working knowledge of AIAG Core Tools
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements

• Starting salary will vary based on qualifications and prior experience
