Our Opportunity
GPJ is hiring an Associate Producer of Live Production to join our growing team!
This role is hybrid, requiring you to report on-site to one of the following office locations a minimum of 2 days/week: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, Nashville, Detroit, Boston, or New York City.
Your Role
In this role as an Associate Producer, you are a crucial part of the Live Production team. Our team handles various aspects of event production, including general sessions, product launches, dealer meetings, press events, special occasions, and consumer events. Your responsibilities involve direct collaboration with GPJ's leadership team, partners, and suppliers. Specifically, you are tasked with streamlining the process for contractor and vendor purchase orders and invoices, in cooperation with the Production Coordinator.
When we're on-site, you will take charge of ensuring that executives, makeup artists, guest speakers, or any other talent we have are well taken care of. This includes managing their schedules, overseeing green rooms and speaker rehearsal spaces, handling on-site petty cash, and managing radio distribution. You are also responsible for coordinating the travel arrangements for our team and staff, handling crew per diem requests, and overseeing the production of the show book. Depending on the event, you might also be responsible for additional services like organizing crew meals and coffee breaks. If you have the necessary experience, you may even take on a small General Session or oversee Breakout meetings.
Your Skills
- Experience in theatrical and technical staging (lighting, audio, video and scenic).
- Knowledgeable on social media integration used in live events.
- Knowledgeable in video production, presentation graphics, digital media and printed graphics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint/Keynote) and research via the web.
- Schedule meetings and record meeting notes accurately
- Bring production in on budget
- Facilitate all contractor and vendor POs and invoices working with the PA
- Ensure on-site media, lighting, green rooms and speaker ready rehearsal rooms are set-up properly
- Oversee show book production, team and staff travel and crew per diem requests
- Manage on-site staff and ensure the needs of Executives, Guest Speakers and/or talent are being met
- Inspire Production Coordinator(s)

Communication - Technical or Production Team leader adept at identification, hiring and mentoring of skills and resources required to build teams that deliver robust solutions within a controlled project management environment. Strong communication skills with each member of the team (GPJ, Client and Partners) in sharing information, advising but being decisive as required to ensure success. Strong advocate for a safe environment for attendees and staff ensuring each project has all required certifications and documentation.
Curiosity - Desire to discover, explore, learn and expand knowledge of digital, technical, theatrical and media elements to bring brands to life in the most effective way. Live production is one of the most powerful forms of communication in experience marketing and your role is to partner with the strategy, creative and account teams in bringing the best ideas forward and put the strategy into action.
Your Experience
Experience & Education
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in live production
- College degree preferred. Study areas would include theater, film/video, business, project management, or other transferable education.
- Relevant production experience will be combined with your track record of success.
Travel & Mobility
- Ability to travel up to 40%
- Ability to work irregular hours in addition to normal business hours, to include nights, weekends and holidays as needed

Salary Range: $65k+
Salary is dependent on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) experience, skills, and location.
