Our Private Sector Enterprise has an immediate opening for a full-time mid-senior level Environmental Practitioner with compliance and permitting subject matter expertise, project management and client coordination experience, preferably in the power sector, to join our team. This position will support project development (i.e. development of work scopes, proposals, and project budgeting), project delivery, compliance strategy development, as well as client communication and relationship development. The position provides the opportunity to perform and manage projects of varying size and complexity along with the ability to work closely with client contacts.
We are seeking a candidate with experience with environmental permitting and regulatory compliance, managing projects including Clean Water Act (402, 404, 401, 316) permitting; oversight of WOTUS field surveys, water quality, endangered species, cultural resources, land use planning, and supporting technical studies are important but not required.
Additional job responsibilities are as follows:

· Deliver quality client service and clear work products on projects while promoting companywide initiatives and values and integrating client critical success factors;
· Solve complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify solutions;
· Interpret internal or external business issues and recommends solutions / best practices;
· Serve as technical lead for typical projects and project tasks for larger/complex projects;
· Successfully manage and deliver quality projects working with a diverse team of scientists and engineers on time and within budget, while utilizing internal project management tools and resources;
· Ability to represent the company with key clients and teaming partners for business and contract matters
· Work independently and with teams to complete assignments and develop quality solutions that meet client expectations and goals in a virtual platform;
· Build relationships and work closely with relevant resources across the company to effectively manage and provide technical support on regulatory compliance projects;
· Collaborate with senior technical resources to prepare clients for negotiations with regulatory agencies;
· Coach and mentor less experienced staff;
· Successfully manage and deliver projects on time, on budget, and with high quality;
· Utilize internal project management tools and resources;
· Participate in improving company resources and tools to improve production and efficiency;
· Mentor/supervise, delegate, and oversee the work of technical staff and engineers; coordinate with other disciplines;
· Demonstrates advanced critical thinking as well as accountability, collaboration, communication, self-discipline, self-development, conflict resolution, and adaptability/flexibility skills;
· Ensure the program team is implementing BC’s quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) process; and
· Support business development pursuits related to client opportunities Detailed Description:
· BS or MS Degree in Environmental Science (Environmental Science, Environmental Toxicology, Ecology, Biology, Geology) or related field required;
· 10 or more years of professional related experience required;Knowledgeable of state and federal environmental regulations;
· Demonstrated experience working with NJDEP, PADEP, NYSDEC, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, or other regulatory agencies, and familiarity with their regulations a plus; · Experience with power companies (ideal), mining, and/or large retail/manufacturing companies;
· Project management skills including attention to health and safety; program delivery strategy development and execution by collaborating with a team of project managers and staff; financial metrics tracking; and implementation of QA/QC;
· Regulatory compliance experience required not limited to: permitting and regulatory support, compliance auditing, and due diligence;
· Experience communicating with environmental regulatory agencies on permitting and compliance matters;
· Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local permit applications;
· Support field efforts on natural resource surveys including, but not limited to, wetland and stream delineations, vernal pool identification and surveys, and threatened and endangered (T&E) species habitat assessments
· Ability to motivate others and be part of project teams to implement plans for projects and client pursuits;
· Strong organizational, project management and technical skills required, experience with client service preferred;
· Strong verbal and written (technical writing) communication skills required;
· Highly responsive, capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities;
· Positive, can-do attitude, flexible and self-motivated, and have an attention to detail;
· Ability to work in a virtual environment across multiple company teams;
· Periodic travel with field work is anticipated;
· Valid driver’s license, and good driving record required;
· 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HazWOPER) certification a plus;
· Experience with NJDEP-led projects a plus;
· The candidate should have the ability to successfully collaborate with BC’s local, regional, and national Compliance and Permitting practitioners as well as help mentor junior staff; and
· Experience and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
