Brown and Caldwell has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated entry-level Electrical Engineer to join our team. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide design support and drafting for electrical and I&C disciplines, in a multi-discipline environment under the direction of experienced Electrical Designers and Professional Engineers.
- Support conceptual through detailed design development, including electrical single line drawings, schedules, plans, equipment layouts, schematics, control wiring diagrams, Process and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), specification and selection of equipment, and electrical system studies; development of contract drawings using 2D and 3D/BIM design approaches, bid package preparation, field investigations and support during construction, both in office and in field.
- Perform contractor construction submittal reviews and request for information documents and general electrical design activities for plant and pump station power systems.
- Producing effective and accurate written documents, reports, and technical memorandums.
- Support business opportunities and assist in sales and marketing efforts (proposal preparation, interviewing, scope, fee, etc.).
- Collaborate with a national team of technical experts in the Electrical and I&C group.
Required Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Able to multi-task, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and work independently with a willingness to learn.
- Candidate should be a self-starter, results-oriented and be able to work under tight and pressured deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in power system analysis and modelling software such as SKM and ETAP.
- Proficiency in Revit
- Familiarity with fundamental technical topics, including Power Systems/Power Distribution, Circuit Analysis, and Electric Drives
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Familiarity with electrical safety systems, NFPA 70E.
- EIT qualifications or intent to pursue EIT standing.
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
