Position Overview:
The Liability Claim Associate will be responsible for providing administrative support to a team of liability adjusters. This position is critical for ensuring the smooth functioning of the claims process and maintaining excellent client service. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be key in assisting with various administrative duties that are essential to the claim handling process.
Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative support to liability adjusters and other team members.
- Manage documents by receiving, identifying, and uploading them to claim files.
- Handle incoming calls, return calls as directed, and respond to internal/external inquiries.
- Serve as a gatekeeper for Liability and Workers’ Compensation accident reports as needed.
- Assign liability claims based on type and adjuster availability.
- Monitor approved vacation schedules and update assignment spreadsheets.
- Enter accident reports and perform ISO indexing on BI claims.
- Assist in special projects and provide general clerical support to the claims team.
- Ensure compliance with service commitments and organizational standards.
Qualifications
Key Skills and Experience:
Required:
- Strong clerical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to manage and organize documentation with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to operate general office equipment and perform a variety of clerical duties.
- A self-starter with initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and predictable attendance to meet client service requirements.
Nice to Have:
- Prior office experience, preferably in an administrative or support role within a claims or insurance environment.
- Previous experience supporting a team of adjusters or claims personnel.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree or two years of related business experience required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred but not required.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- An adjuster's license is not required to start, but for future promotional opportunities, obtaining an adjuster's license will be necessary. This includes completing required training, passing the exam, and undergoing a background check.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for up to 7.5 hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Sufficient auditory and visual acuity to interact with others.
