POSITION PURPOSE

The Manager, Product Marketing Americas owns the offering portfolio in line with business strategies and leads the development of product and portfolio strategies across target markets for the Americas region. This role is responsible for capturing and leveraging market and customer insights to identify opportunities and develop the product roadmap including business cases, project prioritization, positioning, competitive differentiation, and market adoption. The individual will lead and coach a team of product marketing engineers, ensuring customer knowledge is combined with technical product knowledge, and translated into compelling value propositions.

This role requires the ability to influence and build alignment with global product marketing, global and regional engineering, marketing communications, marketing programs and analytics, applications, warranty, business development, sales and aftermarket to achieve targeted growth and capture the value of our innovation. The successful candidate must be curious and creative, while demonstrating competencies in strategy, systems thinking, cooling processes and technologies, and execution.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Market, Customer and Competitive Insights

Develop and execute a learning plan to capture and prioritize customer needs and the competitive landscape
Develop market segmentation. Identify growth opportunities across markets and channels.
Serve as the voice of the customer, translating learnings into actionable insights for product development
Maintain and leverage the database for customer insights and competitive information

Portfolio Strategy and Management

Develop and execute product and portfolio strategies aligned with business goals, market opportunities and customer needs
Conduct portfolio reviews, assess opportunities, and create actionable recommendations and plans
Develop a product roadmap with clearly defined specifications, business cases and prioritization
Identify, prioritize and implement improvements to existing products
Oversee product lifecycle analysis and optimize the portfolio
Establish pricing to optimize growth and profitability

Go-to-Market Strategy and Execution

Develop go-to-market strategies and tactics to create competitive advantage
Own product positioning, and translate technical information into compelling value propositions
Define and oversee new product launch plans, ensuring cross-functional alignment and successful execution.
Develop presentations, technical information, value calculators, training, etc. that enable business development, sales and channel partners to clearly articulate product value

Team Performance

Lead, manage and mentor product marketing engineers, providing clear guidance, coaching, and performance management
Establish subject matter expertise for products, markets, competition, cooling processes and customer decision processes
Foster learning, collaboration, accountability, and innovation within the team

Organization Engagement

Work effectively with internal associates including global product management, marketing communications, marketing programs, business development, sales, aftermarket, applications and engineering
Engage with targeted industry organizations and associated technical committees
Present at trade events and author articles to communicate BAC technical and application expertise, and product benefits

Performance and Results

Achieve orders, sales and margins from new products
Deliver product launches on schedule
Meet new product growth and vitality targets
Develop and manage annual budget

NATURE AND SCOPE

The Manager, Product Marketing Americas will report to the Director, Marketing Americas. As part of the Americas marketing team this individual will have consistent interaction across all levels of the organization, including Americas and global leadership. This role will manage 3-6 direct reports.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or technology discipline. Bachelor’s in marketing with technical experience considered
MBA is a plus

Experience

Strong leadership skills, with proven experience leading and developing teams
8+ years of direct work experience in the industrial cooling / refrigeration industry preferred
Experienced portfolio strategist, product and positioning developer and manager of disciplined execution
Demonstrated portfolio management, product development and launch leadership
Experienced in gathering and leveraging market intelligence
Demonstrated business and financial acumen

Skills

Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, and drive to act upon relevant opportunities
Able to advance despite incomplete or inconsistent information
Relationship builder with the ability to influence where you don’t have control
Ability to deliver persuasive internal and external presentations
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
Ability to speak Spanish would be a plus

BAC Hiring Compensation Range $108,200-$185,200
