If you are a skilled Sales leader in Pipeline Software Solutions, Emerson has a position for you. The Sales Manager for Pipeline Software Solutions is responsible for generating sales opportunities and closing them in order to support the Energy Solutions Operational and Commercial product lines. This includes operational solutions, such as leak detection as well as commercial solutions, including pipeline scheduling and order-to-cash systems. Our customers transport and store liquid and gas hydrocarbons, renewables and chemicals in a vast network of pipelines throughout the US.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Be responsible for sales that range from hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars in value every 6-12 months
- Call on headquarters of pipeline operators for new and existing customers
- Communicate and cohesively interact with C-level and VP-level executives
- Listen to customers and define solutions in a consultative manner while selling the software and implementation services.
- Be able to work multiple threads at the same time.
- Get results reaching out to prospects (sometimes through cold calls), building relationships is key.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor's Degree required - Technical or Engineering discipline preferred.
- 8+ years' sales experience to the Oil and Gas market – with terminal knowledge a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels within an organization
- Proficient in selling software licenses and implementation services
- Proven ability to sell at ‘C’ Level and Senior Management Levels
- Proven ability to work with technical resources and sales management
- Strong ability to interface with all levels of personnel, executive management, customers, (i.e. Emerson Impact Partners or Sales Teams)
- Willing to travel as required (up to 25%)
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- MBA is a plus
- Prior management experience
- Experience in the petroleum industry, preferably in the transportation (pipelines and terminals) space
- Familiarity with enterprise software implementations involving multiple departments.
- Problem solver - In some cases, the applications address process inefficiencies which requires good problem identification (find the inefficiencies) and good problem solving.
