About being a Civil Engineer Designer - Site Development/Public Works

As a Civil Engineer Designer (CED), supporting our Civil Engineering Team in our Santa Ana, CA office at Psomas, you'll utilize your education and experience to contribute to work performed on a variety of site development and public works projects while working in a team-oriented setting and interacting with clients. The Santa Ana Civil Engineering team is a dynamic group with a mixture of seasoned engineers and emerging professionals who work collaboratively. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting, impactful and high-profile projects that prioritize public benefit, safety, accessibility, and sustainability.

Responsibility Highlights for Civil Engineer Designer - Site Development/Public Works

Collaborate with a project team on a broad range of projects in both private and public development.
Assist with design of grading/drainage; earthwork analysis; street improvements; water, sewer, and storm drain utility systems; stormwater quality treatment measures; demolition plans; and site plan development using AutoCAD and Civil3D software
Under supervision, prepare technical reports, including hydraulics, hydrology, water/sewer/drainage calculations; cost/quantity estimates; and specifications
Support other team members as needed
Perform field verifications and participate in site visits and meetings

Minimum Qualifications to be our Civil Engineer Designer - Site Development/Public Works

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 1+ years of experience in civil engineering and design
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D and proficiency in MS Office Suite
Demonstrate an organized work approach and willingness to ask questions
Ability to adapt with changing priorities
Self-motivated to work on individual tasks and in a team environment
Must be able to communicate with verbal and written clarity

Preferred Qualifications for our Civil Engineer Designer - Site Development/Public Works

EIT Certification (or can obtain within 2 years of hire)
Knowledge of stormwater quality and SWPPP
Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software

A competitive salary! The expected range for this position is $37.00-$51.00/hour depending on experience Compensation may be adjusted for well qualified candidates
