The Outage Manager works with Caltrol’s customers, Account Managers, and our Service team to manage the on-time and on-budget execution of repair services for Valves and Regulators, both in the field and in the shop. This would include supporting our customers for their Day-to-Day service needs as well as supporting their larger, scheduled maintenance events. This position communicates with customers to define work scope, create quotes to support the scope, communicate with the service team during the performance of the services, discusses discovery items with the customers, determines solutions, gets final customer approval, close out jobs and finally prepare the jobs for invoicing. Is responsible for making sure our costs are covered and the work generates good profit margins. Our ideal candidate has a background in the service industry and is passionate about providing customer service excellence is a strong communicator, both written and verbal, and is very computer literate.
What you'll be doing:
- Create quotes, coordinate work, communicate with customers, close out jobs and maintain strong profit margins.
- Provide business system updates for plant outages and maintenance turnarounds, as well as input to management for budget forecasting.
- Assist in customer problem resolution
- Interact with customers, factory and other Caltrol teams and departments to develop process improvement and increased customer satisfaction.
- Actively participates with team members to achieve team sales and gross profit goals.
- Take an active role in the assessment of economic feasibility of the repair of control valves verses replacement.
- Participate in internal schedule and manpower planning meetings
- Participate in regular workload review meetings
- Sustain a working knowledge of the commercial and financial operations of Caltrol’s business.
- Perform other duties as required.
Hiring Range
The hiring range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 annually. This is the pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate along with the requirements of the position.
What we’re looking for:
- High school or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in dealing with Control valves, sales and/or repair with good general technical sales competency.
- Strong Sales and Customer interface skills.
- Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively communicate.
- Exceptional follow-up skills.
- Strong technical knowledge of I&VS Repair services.
- Knowledge of internal order entry process and procedures.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle special assignments and schedule demanding workload to meet customer deadlines.
- Willingness to work overtime as situation requires.
- A high skill level with Excel, Power Point, and Word.
- Team player.
Preferred:
- A background in process control sales or applications.
- College degree in Engineering or Technical field preferred, but not required.
- Experience in or selling/servicing industrial industries.
- Strong Familiarity with most Fisher Control valve models and types.
- Experience with control valve sizing with Fisher training courses Control Valve Engineering I and II.
- Knowledge of Emerson Process Management products and services.
- Understanding and experience with Caltrol’s key industries, including refining, mining, power, food / beverage, water, and HVAC
- Knowledge of ball valve, control valve, valve repair, butterfly valve, process valve, valve assembly, electric actuators, valve automation, pneumatic actuators, etc.
