Overview
SimVentions, consistently voted one Virginia's Best Places to Work, is looking for a friendly, informative, and welcoming receptionist to join our company. As a receptionist, you will serve as a positive first impression of the company, while handling the daily responsibilities of a receptionist with efficiency and ease. You will answer inquiries, provide information to customers and visitors, and maintain a welcoming environment.
In addition to traditional front desk responsibilities, this position plays an important role in supporting employee engagement efforts and company events. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a dynamic environment and is interested in gaining experience in office administration, HR support, and event coordination.

Requirements
- Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise

- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and maintain attention to detail

Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival and direct them to the appropriate person or office
- Answer and forward incoming phone calls
- Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges/maintain visitor control)
- Provide administrative support, frequently of a complex or confidential nature
- Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g., pens, forms and brochures)
- Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
- Maintain accurate employee and company records, databases, and spreadsheets
- Receive and track incoming packages and deliveries, including logging receipt and pickup
- Assist with ordering and distributing company apparel and anniversary awards
- Post job openings to various career sites
- Support coordination and planning efforts for company events
- Hours: 8am-5pm Monday-Friday (including lunch hour)
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with Canva or similar design platforms for creating simple internal graphics, flyers, or announcements is a plus
- Experience using Microsoft Excel to maintain and organize spreadsheets and records.
- Creative mindset with an eye for organization and presentation in an office environment
- Experience assisting with event planning and execution is a plus
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, or similar collaboration tools is a plus
- Willingness to occasionally assist with general office support needs
- Ability to occasionally lift or move items up to 10 pounds (packages, office supplies, or materials)

Compensation
Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.
The projected annual compensation range for this position is $38,800-$62,300 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
