Wash Crew Supervisor

1. Job Purpose/Objective:
Starting $17.50/ Hr
This position is responsible for the training and supervision of the wash crew employees and the coordination of activities regarding the cleanliness and maintenance of all company transportation vehicles and general maintenance of the various facilities. The Utility Maintenance /Wash Crew Supervisor position ensures that all company transportation vehicles are properly cleaned / polished using the correct procedures and products and performs routine maintenance within the various facilities on property. The incumbent is also responsible to deliver a high level of personalized service to all clients, passengers, vendors, coworkers etc.
2. Essential Job Functions:
Incumbent may perform any or all of the following:
- Wash Crew Supervisor
- Develops and executes a cleaning plan and schedule according to the needs of the operation.
- Assigns Wash Crew team their duties and responsibilities, inspecting work to ensure compliance with all Company and state policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Conducts training of all new hires and current crew members on all work procedures, demonstrating the correct use and maintenance of equipment and chemicals. Participates in and conducts all training sessions as needed or required. Monitors, coaches the performance of supervised crew members.
- Performs the same work duties as those supervised or perform more difficult or skilled tasks, assisting crew members with their tasks as needed or whenever possible to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Responsible for the daily opening and closing procedures for the Wash and Maintenance workspace and/or ensuring coverage to do so when needed.
- Always ensures the maintenance of a clean and organized workspace.
- Conducts and supervises the cleaning of vehicles:
- Interior: Ceiling, windows, seats, floors, walkways, handrails, driver’s area, steps.
- Exterior: Windows, mirrors, tires, hubs, side panels, storage compartments.
- Has full comprehension of each vehicle’s safety features and ensure that they are in working order.
- Approves employees’ timecards to ensure accurate payroll submissions.
- Assists in the recruitment, interviewing and hiring process of staff members as needed.
- Other:
- Estimates time and materials needed to complete tasks. Selects materials and hardware as needed based on requests. Maintains accurate records on materials used and submits report to management as required.
- Maintains inventory of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Inspects own work upon completion and ensures areas are clean.
- Takes inventory and ensures the work area is adequately always stocked with all needed supplies for the operational needs of the Company.
- Correctly completes and submits all necessary and related operational documentation and paperwork in a timely fashion and in accordance with the Company’s policies and operational needs.
- Fuels Company vehicles as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Manager, including but not limited to driving vehicles in and out of the vehicle staging area, and running various errands using Company vehicle.
3. Essential Skills (Minimum qualifications individual must possess when entering position) – i.e. skillsets, education, certifications, etc.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum age of 21 years old.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience: training, delegating, caching, and monitoring.
- Minimum of 6 months of wash crew and utility maintenance experience.
- Type 3 license with a current valid Hawaii Driver History Record.
- Must have vehicle clearance for all Roberts Hawaii Vehicles.
- Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Must be able to write basic reports. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Simple math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, are needed.
- Must be able to work flexible days / hours – weekends, nights, holidays.
- Operational knowledge of basic hand tools required.

4. Working Conditions/Job Environment
- Medium to heavy work: Exerting up to 70 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor working conditions as needed or required.
- Must have good manual dexterity which involves frequent bending, stooping, overhead reaching, kneeling, squatting and other physical demands.
- Must be able to work in an environment where loud noises, exhaust fumes and chemicals are commonly present.
- Must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make fine discriminations in sound.
- The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
