We are currently seeking a Director of Nursing Assistant Training Program to join our team at our Riverside campus (can office out of Van Nuys or Santa Ana as well). In this position you will be responsible providing vision, leadership, and direction for the Nursing Assistant Training program (NATP).This is accomplished through curriculum development and oversight within guidelines required by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and Nursing Assistant Training Program (NATP); as well as management of program instructors and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluates, develops, and maintains NATP approved curriculum
- Recommends program changes for curriculum, additions, and deletions.
- Oversees the maintenance of NATP for each class/lesson.
- Ensures instructors utilize NATP training plan as approved and in accordance with course objectives and within guidelines of CDPH approved training plan.
- Oversees the selection of course text materials, equipment, and clinical sites.
- Schedules instructors for classes working closely with the Director of Education.
- Communicates with Director of Education on instructor reviews and job performance.
- Conducts regular departmental (NATP) meetings with instructors.
- Promotes a productive academic environment for NATP Instructors and students.
- Ensures classroom and equipment are available to ensure goals of classroom instruction are achieved.
- Teaches course load as assigned.
- Performs academic advising and counseling for students in the program.
- Attends conferences and professional development programs.
- Conducts annual NATP Reviews to identify policy changes, development, and implementation.
- Submits Instructor Applications to the CDPH for approval.
- Maintains instructor records of transcripts, resume’s, licenses, certifications, developmental activities, and qualifications.
- Monitors NATP:
- Ensure student enrollment requirements are met
- Conduct orientation sessions for all NATP faculty and staff.
- Performs annual instructor and staff performance reviews.
- Perform analysis of student NATP evaluations/surveys.
- Develops lesson plans for each learning module.
- Maintain and secure Individual Student Records (CDPH 276C) for a period of no less than 4 years.
- Ensure approved NATP faculty provide all clinical training, and direct supervision of students:
- Student to instructor ratio shall not exceed fifteen (15) to one (1).
- Provide facility with student names along with training schedule that will be followed.
- Provides all clinical training in the department approved facility, by a department approved instructor, while following the NATP approved training schedule.
- Provides notice to the facility that all students have had the physical exam, test for TB (not less than 90 days prior to patient contact) and criminal screening (background clearance) upon enrollment to the NATP.
- Training will be provided only between the hours of 6am and 8pm.
- Training will include a minimum of 100 hours of clinical training in the facility.
- Contracts and maintains written clinical facility agreements
- Maintains Student skills check list
- Maintains student physical exam and immunization records
- Monitors student attendance and make-up time
- Complete transmittal form for student criminal background clearance
- Provides student direction for Live Scan services
- Ensures the CDPH approved training schedule is followed exclusively
- Completes attestation of student NATP completion
- Refers students to approved testing vendors
- Enforces regulations in the NATP Policies and Procedures manual.
- Audits classes for instructor quality of instruction, classroom management skills, classroom appearance, and student participation and performance.
- Provide product training school departments (e.g., Admissions, Financial Planning, Career Services)
- Other duties may be assigned.

Must be a Registered Nurse with current, active license.

A minimum of twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education courses in planning, implementing and evaluation of educational programs in nursing. (These courses must be approved by the Board of Registered Nursing or courses administered by an accredited educational institution).

Nursing teaching credential, (If completed, the twenty-four (24 hours of CEU) DSD course is not required).

Must have ability to travel between campuses as needed.
