We're looking to hire a Project Accountant to join our Southwest team. This position will be responsible for monitoring the progress of projects and investigating variances. They will work closely with our project management team by providing accounting support and financial analysis. This position will either be a hybrid or remote role. If hybrid, this position will sit within our Dallas or Houston office.

Essential Job Functions:

Review of all job/project cost estimates to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Develop/refine templates and assumptions used and establish best practice processes.
Evaluate and update overhead burden assumptions for job costing for each division and market vertical.
Support process to drive timely updates to the schedule of billings to support invoicing/billing process.
Perform job cost analysis for all ongoing projects and targeted post-mortem job audits.
Investigate cost variances and work with project management to recover and offset cost overruns.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
Minimum of 2 years of accounting work experience or prior experience in project management within the Construction industry is preferred but not required.
Strong Technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication.
A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
Ability to update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
