Overview

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Accounts Receivable Specialist in our Pittsburgh, PA office, to manage accounts receivable portfolio, support collections, and help improve our internal processes. You’ll work directly with clients to collect past-due invoices, review aging reports, conduct credit assessments, and document communications.

What You’ll Do:

Collect past-due invoices via calls and emails, documenting all internal and external communications
Review and manage Accounts Receivable aging reports
Conduct credit assessments, set up clients, and provide summaries to management
Assist with cash applications, dispute research, and resolution
Identify and implement process improvements to streamline collections workflows and reporting
Participate in weekly meetings with management to discuss outstanding balances within the portfolio and collaborate on resolving issues
Participate in process improvement initiatives to optimize collections and reporting
Collaborate with accounting and management teams on ad hoc projects

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in accounting or related field (or relevant experience)
2+ years of experience in credit and collections, or related accounting roles
Strong communication, negotiation, decision-making, and analytical skills
Detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Proficiency in MS Office Suite; Deltek experience is a plus
Willingness to work overtime if needed (compensated)
Interest or experience in process improvement
