Job Duties/Essential Functions

1. Greets customers and provides information about our crematory/cemetery services.

2. Welcomes and consoles customers who have a need for our crematory/cemetery services

3. Accepts/Releases pet remains.

4. Provides necessary services related to registering, accepting, and releasing ashes to customers.

5. Sells urns, caskets, headstones, perpetual maintenance, and grave blanket services.

6. Conducts all transactions with customers for all burials and crematory proceedings.

7. Schedules and performs D.A. pickups from homes or veterinarians.

8. Completes daily cremation logs and faxes to District Manager.

9. Performs vet visits for Harperlawn (2 new vet visits and 4 revisits monthly).

10. Takes inventory of caskets and urns monthly.

11. Hires and schedules associates for Harperlawn operations, including customer service.

12. Oversees repair of equipment and Harperlawn grounds.

13. Maintains Harperlawn grounds, to include, headstone-raising, lawn moving, grave filling and seeding, ground clean-up.

14. Schedules burials and cremations.

15. Checks voicemail for Harperlawn every hour and responds to customer needs.

16. Ensures policy and procedure letter is updated and mailing is sent out if appropriate. Ensures policies are enforced.

17. Maintains a minimum of 15% increase in burial and cremation over prior year.

18. Cleans and maintains Cemetery and Crematory office and buildings.

19. Maintains freezers (bleach and cleansed quarterly).

20. Complies with all policies and procedures and supports the mission and philosophy of Best Friends Pet Care Inc.

21. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

• High School Graduate or Equivalent

• Minimum of 1-year experience relating to customers.

Personal:

• Must have strong communication, interpersonal and excellent telephone skills.

• Ability to think clearly and quickly to console customers.

• Must possess a love for animals and compassion for pet owners.

• Displays a professional manner at all times.

Physical:

• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Must be able to frequently lift 40 pounds.

• Must be able to be on feet eight hours per day and must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently.

• Must be able to utilize multi-line telephone and voicemail.

• Must be able to work on computer system.

• Must be able to handle deceased pets.

• Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander, excretions, and crematory smoke.
