Position Overview: As the Departmental Team Lead at Thermcraft, you will serve as a key leader within our organization, responsible for overseeing the daily operations and performance of a specific department. You will lead a team of skilled assemblers, driving collaboration, efficiency, and excellence in all aspects of departmental activities. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership qualities, exceptional organizational skills, and a proven track record of success in leading teams to achieve operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership, direction, and support to a team of production assemblers, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Workflow Management: Coordinate and prioritize workflow within the production assembly department to optimize resource utilization and meet production targets.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs and opportunities for skill development among production assemblers, providing hands-on training and guidance to support their growth and development.
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the production assembly department, implementing best practices and lean methodologies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with quality control procedures and standards in production assembly processes, conducting inspections and implementing corrective actions as needed to maintain product quality.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster open communication and collaboration within the production assembly team and across other departments, facilitating teamwork and alignment towards common goals.
- Safety Compliance: Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements within the production assembly department, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production assembly activities, performance metrics, and inventory levels, and prepare regular reports for management review.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification in manufacturing or production assembly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in production assembly, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in operating general hand tools and equipment such as drills, screwdrivers, cutting tools, table saws, tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices is a plus.
