New Orleans, LA is looking for Structural Bridge Design Engineers - Entry Level to Senior Level
As a Structural Bridge Design Engineer with Modjeski and Masters, you will work on a variety of challenging and rewarding bridge engineering projects for a myriad of transportation clients. Description
Positions Available -
- Entry Level (0-4 years related Bridge Design Experience)
- Mid-Level (4-10 years related Bridge Design Experience)
- Senior Level (10 + years related Bridge Design Experience)
Ideal Candidates will have:
- At minimum a BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited College or University
- For Entry Level Positions
- Ideal candidates will have a valid EI certification, or in the process of obtaining.
- For Mid-Level Positions
- Ideal Candidates will be within 6 months of obtaining a valid PE license
- For Senior Level positions
- Ideal candidates will have a valid Professional Engineering License (PE) in the state of Louisiana.
General Responsibilities of a Structural Bridge Design Engineer:
- Review and check standard structural design calculations.
- Perform structural analysis and design of standard bridge components using analysis software.
- Develop preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians for development of contract plans.
- Provide information for design reports.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including field inspections and construction serviceassignments.
- Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
- Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence.
- Perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans.
- Review and check drawings.
- Use engineering analysis software such as LUSAS, RISA-3D, LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.
- Able to learn and correctly apply relevant design specifications, including: AASHTO, AREMA, AISC, ACI, etc.
- Senior Engineer Positions ONLY
- will take on leadership roles and will be responsible for the delivery of projects, will assist Projects Managers in identifying issues and developing solutions. Senior Engineers will also serve as technical leads on complex projects.
