Pharmacy Technician Lead Instructor - (Full-Time)

LEAD INSTRUCTOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Monitor inventory and may order supplies and equipment for the department as necessary.
Participate in Advisory Board Meetings to ensure externship concerns, student progress, student outcomes, and community satisfaction are communicated to the Faculty Coordinator and Campus Director.
Review curriculum and recommend to the Corporate Education Department during program revision cycles.
Review textbooks and make recommendations to the Corporate Education Department during textbook revision cycles.
Assist Career Services to ensure regular contact with sites and document the oversight and evaluation of students' clinical experiences.
Assist with the orientation of new hires and supporting the team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Determine, establish and implement pharmacy technician department goals.
Implement and evaluate daily lesson plans. Plan instruction to achieve specific objectives based upon student need and established curriculum.
Review student success rates by class and implement plan to reduce student withdrawals. Meet with students to encourage them to stay in the program. Maintain an 80% student success rate for all classes taught in the program.
Monitor the program budget and expenditures. Monitor inventory and may order supplies and equipment for department as necessary.
Maintain student grades in accordance with established policies. Prepare final grades at the end of each semester to update student records and transcripts.
Work in collaboration with Career Services to select clinical sites and coordinate with site instructors to ensure clinical education is effective.
Collaborate with Career Services to ensure regular contact with clinical sites and to document oversight and evaluation of students on clinical experiences.
Participate in Advisory Board Meetings to ensure externship concerns, student progress, student outcomes and community satisfaction are communicated to the Faculty Coordinator and Campus Director.
Evaluate course content and review new texts. Collaborate with the education department in designing and implementing the Pharmacy Technician program.
Maintain all ASHP records and prepare annual reports. Prepare self‐study for accreditation.
Perform functions of a Pharmacy Technician Instructor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree from an institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting body recognized by the U. S. Department of Education (USDE) or currently enrolled in and actively pursuing an associate’s degree or an appropriate state teaching credential.
Graduate of an ASHP-accredited pharmacy technician program, preferred. OR
Graduate from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
Five (5) years of occupational experience in pharmacy practice.
Must be a member of at least one national and state pharmacy organization.
Licensed pharmacist or a nationally certified pharmacy technician in good standing.
Current license, certification or other designation as required by local, state or federal laws to work in the Pharmacy field.
Verbal and written communications skills.
Knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and computer skills.
