AR Collections Associate

Overview:

This position will work primarily, though not exclusively, with the Alterman receivable’s function.

Essential Functions:

1. Customer Interaction and Communication: 50%

Makes initial contact with the customer regarding invoice submission.
Communicates and works with the proper project accountant for billing revisions or issues.
Resolves customer complaints regarding collection issues.
Communicates with the customer 5 days prior to the due date for payment acknowledgment.
Collects outstanding payments from customers via phone, email, and/or letters.
Responds to customer inquiries and billing inquiries by Divisional Directors and Project Managers (PMs).
Completes credit references when requested.

2. Recordkeeping and Reporting: 30%

Maintains a complete and accurate record of all collection efforts.
Assists with Account Receivable (AR) aging reports for Divisional Directors and PMs.
Complies with control processes and ensure completion of audit requests for Accounts Receivables.

3. Overall Receivables Management:20%

Manages and oversees the receivables processes.
Performs invoice follow-ups and collections.
Optimizes the days outstanding and aging accounts receivables.
Other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
One to three years related experience and/or training preferred.

Language Skills-Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
Reasoning Ability-Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills-To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Prior experience with accounting software is preferred.

Work Environment:

Office environment.
Moderate noise level.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use a computer; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
