Description
Summary: Tempo Junior Foreman will assist to assembles and installs all materials and equipment related to HVAC systems to residential new construction projects according to specifications and mechanical codes by contractors.
Objectives:
In this role, you will be expected to complete an understudy program ranging from 6Mo-1Year, upon proven ability to complete all necessary objections you will have the opportunity to attain an elevated position with additional responsibilities and pay.
- After 12 months of training, you will have the opportunity to become a Foreman without Territory
- After 12 months into the Foreman without a territory role you will have the opportunity to become a foreman with your own territory.
Reports to:Foreman Operation Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform redline walks as needed.
- Encourage and support sub-contractors on company policies, safety, and installation procedures.
- Complete time records.
- Perform light punch work of an a/c installer as needed.
- Inspect construction sites for rough and trim readiness, report readiness.
- Inspect construction site for punch completeness at all levels of construction and troubleshoot retags as needed to ensure the job passes code and energy inspection
- Upon inspection of jobs articulate creative solutions to HVAC installs to management to allow for a formal review process to take place with a review panel.
- Work in conjunction with Foreman to collectively address any performance issues with sub-contractors.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret written instructions, make basic mathematical computations, and utilize various measuring instruments.
- Possess some experience as an air conditioner installer.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; knowledgeable of OSHA and worksite safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and details, follow specific directions, perform a variety of duties which may often change, repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure and to work within precise limits and standards of numerical accuracy.
- Ability to operate a variety of trade-related tools including ½’ drill, reciprocating saw, chain saw, skill saw, tin snips, acetylene torch, digital thermometer, volt/meter, Freon gauge, vacuum pump, torpedo level and miscellaneous other hand tools.
- Ability to work skillfully with both hands constantly; independently lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds routinely, 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally; climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffold; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push, pull, twist, finger, grasp and feel on a constant and repetitive basis; stand, walk, talk, and perform repetitive motion activities throughout shift; see and hear within normal range.
- Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions including excessive heat, cold, noise, vibrations, dust, fumes, oils and wear a respirator.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
Job Requirements:
- Ability of obtain a TDLR air conditioning & refrigeration technician’s card

Valid drivers’ license
- Clean driving and criminal records as required by state laws for home service companies and by company insurance carrier(s)
- Ability to follow/perform installation procedures for HVAC/R equipment
- Ability to follow controls/wiring schematic
- Ability to braze/solder
- Ability to perform minor field fabrication
- Ability to lift 100 pounds
- Standard technician tools
- Competent in field technology
- Two or more years of experience as an HVAC/R installation, maintenance, or service technician
- NATE certification preferred or willingness to work to attain NATE certification
- Neat, clean, professional appearance
- Average 40 hours per week
- Some overtime/weekend work as required
- May work outside, in crawl spaces, and attics
- Work with sheet metal and sharp objects
- Most jobs are paid on a performance base pay system
- Some tasks, meetings, training, etc. is compensated on an hourly basic

- Truck maintenance, organization, and cleanliness

Language Skills
- English, Spanish preferred by not required
