Job Summary:

Will oversee shop locations across Iowa and Nebraska, is responsible for managing and coordinating the activities within the company’s construction shops and fleet. This role ensures the efficient operation of shop facilities, manages equipment and inventory, oversees personnel, and ensures safety compliance. The Shop Manager works closely with the project teams to support construction activities by maintaining equipment readiness and availability.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Will oversees shop inventory for equipment, tools, materials, and supplies.
Managesmaintenance schedules forvehicles, equipment, and tools.Will make recommendationswhen replacement is required.
Will manage asset tracking for all three locations.
Managing the shop budget for all three locations and capital expenditure recommendations for fleet and equipment.
Estimates material needs, purchases materials for shop use, and inspects materialsupon arrival to shop for damage.Managing the repackaging and storage if required.
Ensures the shop is following all OSHA safety regulations such as hazardous waste storage/disposaland updating SDS.
Responsible for the interior and exterior layout of shop space.
Coordinate with project teams to fulfill project equipment requirements.
Oversee the delivery of equipment to and from job siteswith tractor/trailer. Will provide support when the CDL driver is not available.
Oversee that all currentState and Federal DOT regulations are being followed and collaborated with the Safety department on non-compliance.
Will manage all shop employees and over seeschedules and overtime.
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned or as necessary to meet the needs of the organization, including tasks outside the scope of typical job functions in support of operational goals and company objectives.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Coordinating, scheduling, and delegating tasks.
Inventory tools, equipment, and shop supplies
Reading equipment manuals and schematics.
Problem solving with the ability to do root cause analysis.
Ability to inspect shop and fleet for safety compliance.
Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, superintendents,project managers, owners, subcontractors, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and toreceive or give work direction.
Demonstrates proficient ability to use computers and a variety of software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), as well as other industry-specific programs and tools essential to the role.
Conduct safetytraining for department
Valid Driver’s License with a Class A CDL

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.);
Ten years of increasingly responsible construction equipment maintenance experience, including five years of lead experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient tosuccessfully perform the essential duties such as those listed above.
Mechanical knowledge of diesel equipment, vehicle fleet and/or gas engines, small engine, small tool, andvarious construction related equipment.

Physical Requirements:

Positions in this class typically require balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, driving, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Incumbents may be subjected to extreme temperatures, long hours, weekend, and holiday duties.
Pass a DOT physical for the CDL requirements
For operating heavy equipment:Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
