Position Overview: The Sales Team Manager leads the sales team to achieve targets by setting goals, reviewing sales pipelines, and analyzing performance. This role provides strategic guidance on deal strategies on educating clients on value and differentiators, ensures CRM accuracy, and supports team members on complex projects. The Sales Team Manager manages key client relationships and collaborates on bids and timelines with other departments. Responsibilities include coaching the sales team, conducting performance analysis, staying updated on industry trends, and identifying growth opportunities while also participating in key sales calls and site visits.
Key Activities
- Lead and manage the sales team to achieve individual and team sales targets by providing ongoing support, guidance, and motivation, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review sales goals, pipeline progression, and challenges, while addressing any roadblocks and ensuring alignment on ongoing and future projects.
- Provide strategic guidance on deal strategies by analyzing client needs, offering tailored solutions, and helping team members close key deals through effective negotiation and relationship management.
- Manage key client relationships by maintaining regular communication with top-tier clients, ensuring their needs are met, and fostering long-term partnerships that drive repeat business.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, estimators, and marketing, to ensure alignment on bids, marketing campaigns, and project timelines, directly impacting sales outcomes and overall success.
- Coach and mentor sales reps by providing personalized feedback, conducting role-play sessions, and facilitating skill development through actionable insights and performance evaluations.
- Conduct monthly one-to-one meetings with each team member.
- Setting performance metrics to maintain accountability and track progress toward goals.
- Analyze sales data and monitor CRM updates, ensuring the team is tracking key deals, maintaining accurate pipeline data, and identifying the next steps for lead progression, while making data-driven decisions.
- Identify new business opportunities by staying informed on market trends, competitor activities, and client feedback, and contributing to the development of strategies to expand market share and drive revenue growth.
- Participate in key client meetings, sales calls, and site visits to provide additional support, gain deeper insights into client needs, and offer relevant solutions that align with the company’s capabilities and goals.
- Responsible for refining sales processes, which ensure the team is methodically advancing deals and improving efficiency

- Strong understanding of customer needs and the ability to tailor solutions that enhance customer satisfaction.
- Effective organizational skills to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Professional Qualifications
- 5+ years of sales experience in a related industry, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- 5+ years of leadership or team management experience, demonstrating the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a sales team.
- Proven track record of growing team members, revenue, margins and new markets.
- Strong background in business development, including identifying new market opportunities, developing strategies, and closing high-value deals.
- Familiarity with sales forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning to drive revenue growth.
- Knowledge of sports field construction, or familiarity with high stakes B2B sales in construction.
