Brown and Caldwell is seeking a highly motivated Internal Communications and Digital Platforms Specialist to manage the day-to-day operations and upkeep of our SharePoint-based company intranet. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding business and internal client requirements that drive the design of SharePoint solutions. You will work with internal business partners to design, build, and refine SharePoint solutions for our company intranet. You will be responsible for providing technical support for the SharePoint environment, resolve issues, and respond to suggestions for improvement and enhancement.
The Internal Communications Platform Specialist is a highly collaborative position, working closely with our Corporate Communications team and internal business partners to keep internal audiences engaged and informed. This dynamic role is positioned at the center of BC’s corporate communications activities, playing a key role in driving a positive employee experience, with opportunity to support a range of strategic corporate communications for diverse audiences and other strategic business partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the company intranet and related channels, ensuring it is up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Manage the intranet content calendar, overseeing continuous publication of content that ranges from the necessary and strategic to fun and culture-building.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather and publish relevant content, including news, announcements, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze channel usage and performance, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvements.
- Manage the news intake process from initial request, to copyediting, to stakeholder review, to final publication in SharePoint.
- Provide training and support to content creators and site administrators to ensure content is up to date and aligned with overall intranet strategy.
- Champion the intranet cause and keep it focused on its purpose: to connect and engage employees and support business objectives.
- Encourage internal teams and employees to use the company-branded storefront for recruitment events, employee activities, client meetings, and conferences.
- Provide administrative assistance to the corporate communications team by implementing initiatives and projects. This includes managing shared inboxes, maintaining shared files, and ensuring smooth operation within Teams.
- Manage and maintain site content and structure settings, site hierarchy, and site collection navigation.
- Create web parts, lists/libraries, content types, site columns, master pages, search navigation, permissions, and data management.
- Consolidate sites and migrate content as needed.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 1-3 years of related experience in journalism, marketing, and/or communications preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in communications or related field required.
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communications skills with an ability to adjust communications to different audiences and channels.
- Excellent document, presentation, and webpage layout skills required.
- Comfort with contemporary web-based intranet technology (SharePoint training can be provided to the right candidate).
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to solicit and incorporate feedback into cohesive end products.
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple competing priorities and maintain good judgment in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, multitask, and manage time appropriately.
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Capable of operating with minimal supervision while proactively communicating status and updates.
- SharePoint experience highly desirable, or capability to quickly learn this platform.
- Analytical skills to assess intranet performance and identify areas for improvement preferred.
- Familiarity with employee engagement and internal communication strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a team player and willingness to collaborate and contribute on both a strategic and tactical level. Desire to take on new challenges as team objectives evolve.
- Proficiency in MS Office products.
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Location A:
Salary $25.20 -$34.50
Location B:
Salary $27.70 -$38.00
Location C:
Salary $30.20 -$41.40
