Position Summary:CCMSI is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Multi-Line Claim Supervisor to manage and oversee the investigation and adjustment of multi-line claims for a single dedicated national client account, including claims in both the United States and Canada. This hybrid role offers flexibility after an initial in-office training period, requiring one day in the office per week and attendance at additional mandatory meetings or training sessions. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising claim activity to ensure quality service and compliance with corporate standards, client-specific instructions, and relevant laws. Supervisory experience, as well as previous experience handling national accounts, is preferred. This position is a great opportunity for an individual with leadership aspirations, as it may serve as advanced training for potential promotion to a management role.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and Assign Claims: Oversee all multi-line claim activities for designated claims, ensuring compliance with CCMSI’s Corporate Claim Standards, client-specific instructions, and applicable laws.
- Claim Investigation & Adjustment: Investigate, evaluate, and adjust multi-line claims in line with established standards and legal requirements.
- Reserve Establishment: Establish and oversee reserves for claims within established authority limits.
- Invoice Review & Negotiation: Review and negotiate medical, legal, and damage estimates, as well as miscellaneous invoices, ensuring they are reasonable and related to the claims.
- Payment Authorization: Authorize and process claim payments according to industry standards and within payment authority limits.
- Settlement Negotiation: Negotiate claim settlements in compliance with corporate standards and client instructions.
- Vendor Coordination: Supervise the selection and referral of claims to outside vendors (e.g., legal, surveillance, case management).
- Litigated Claims Management: Manage and direct the handling of litigated and complex claims.
- Education & Development: Provide training, support, and development opportunities for claim staff.
- Diary & Documentation Management: Maintain personal diaries on the claims system and ensure timely follow-up on claims.
- Compliance: Ensure all multi-line claim activities comply with Corporate Claim Handling Standards and client-specific instructions.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of multi-line claims experience is required, with 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred. Experience handling national accounts is strongly preferred.
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, though relevant work experience will be considered.
- Licenses: A valid Adjuster’s License is required. AIC, CPCU, or ARM certifications are preferred.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and claims management software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Demonstrated leadership and initiative to meet performance goals.
- Flexibility and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods (up to 7.5 hours or more).
- Ability to stoop, bend, reach, and manipulate objects with hands and arms.
- Sufficient auditory and visual acuity to interact with others effectively.
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (with hybrid work flexibility after initial training period).
- Occasional mandatory in-office meetings or training.
