We are seeking a
Senior Plumbing Designer to join our Large Commercial market sector. This position will allow you to leverage your design experience and implement plumbing systems that optimize energy efficiency, sustainability, and functionality across multiple client projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage in innovative problem-solving, and contribute to the advancement of the built environment. This role is located in Austin, Texas and has a flexible hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to create detailed drawings, layouts, and schematics for various plumbing systems, including layouts for water supply, waste, and vent systems
- Collaborate with engineers to develop plumbing system designs, assisting in the creation and modification of drawings and models to reflect design changes and requirements
- Ensure that plumbing designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations, including but not limited to IPC and UPC, and local jurisdictional requirements
- Conduct thorough reviews of drawings and models to verify accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project standards, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or errors promptly
- Prepare comprehensive documentation, including drawings, schedules, and specifications, to support the design and construction of plumbing systems
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, architectural, and structural teams to ensure plumbing systems are seamlessly integrated with all other aspects of building designs
- Coordinate with project managers and other team members to support project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities, ensuring timely and successful project delivery
- Pursue opportunities for professional development and continuing education to enhance technical knowledge, skills, and expertise in plumbing design and related disciplines
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience designing plumbing systems in the MEP consulting field, preferably on large commercial or retail projects
- Demonstrated expertise in utilizing AutoCAD and Revit with a track record of producing high-quality plumbing drawings and model
- Strong technical of plumbing systems and components, potable water systems, sanitary and storm drainage systems, gas distribution systems, medical gas systems, and fire protection systems, with knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as including IPC, UPC, ASPE, and ASHRAE
- Proven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and other regulatory authorities to achieve project objectives and deliver successful outcomes
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
