About This Opportunity
The Cascade People Team is looking for an enthusiastic Human Resources Assistant (our People Team Assistant!) to support our team as we deliver a positive employee experience from recruitment through onboarding and beyond. You’ll be the go-to point of contact for the People team and employees as you provide general human resources and administrative support. As an HR Assistant on the Cascade People Team, you will be a trusted partner making sure Cascadians feel connected, empowered and prepared to thrive at work.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, including but not limited to staffing, recruitment, training, performance evaluations, classifications, and employee leaves of absence.
- Welcome new hires by conducting new hire onboarding and orientation ensuring a smooth, positive and seamless experience for all new employees. Enter new hires into HRIS.
- Explain company policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
- Build employee confidence and protect operations by maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately. Provide support for external audits (401k, ESOP, financial, and safety).
- Provide clerical support to the People department, including but not limited to the maintenance of SharePoint Online pages, general HR inbox management, running reports, maintaining candidate folders, job posts, scheduling interviews, writing offer letters and PowerPoint slide preparations.
- Assist with planning and execution of routine and special events such as small group meetings, benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events and celebrations.

This is a full-time, exempt position to be located within commuting distance of the Portland OR office. We are flexible but need someone in office up to 1 – 2 days per week.
Travel is not anticipated for this role.
Qualifications
Applicants for this role are required to have:
- Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress in a relevant field
- 3 – 5 years of experience in Human Resources, working in a company with over 150 employees
- SHRM or similar certifications a plus
A successful candidate should also demonstrate these preferred characteristics and/or skills:
- Great verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate your ability to be clear, concise, and direct with a keen attention to detail
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with empathy, professionalism, and integrity
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite or related software
- Proficient with HRIS and similar computer applications

Compensation & Benefits
Our total rewards include competitive pay and excellent benefits. These include health, vision, FSA or HSA options with an employer contribution, life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, paid parental leave, 401k retirement plan with a guaranteed 3% contribution, Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP), annual cash performance bonus, paid vacation, sick time, and an inclusive, flexible paid holiday policy, wellbeing contribution of $500 for HSA, FSA, or LSA (Lifestyle Spending Account).
The salary range for this position in Portland OR is $59,000 - $73,200/year. However, final salary offered may vary depending on non-discriminatory factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experiences, and geographical location if different than the above.
