Resident Engineer / Senior Construction Inspector to join our team for a roadway reconstruction project in
Claremont, NH anticipated to begin in late
March 2025.
As a
Resident Engineer / Senior Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for tracking, monitoring, and reporting on every phase of the construction process, ensuring compliance with quality control standards, Federal Funding requirements, and monitoring progress reports, schedules, and budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction inspection, with expertise in roadway construction including concrete box culverts and NHDOT specifications.
Responsibilities
- Track , monitor, and report on every phase of the construction process,
- Conduct inspections of construction work to ensure adherence to quality control standards and project specifications.
- Monitor progress reports, schedules, and budget to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of the project.
- Collaborate with project managers, project owner, engineers, contractors, and construction teams to address any issues or concerns.
- Prepare detailed daily reports documenting inspection findings, contractor equipment and employees, work performed, and weather, including any non-compliance issues and recommended corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, approvals, and certifications consistent NHDOT Local Project Agency (LPA) requirements.
- Coordinate and schedule material testing company.
- Perform measurements and calculations of work performed and materials used to review contractor request for payment.
- Compiles construction data, records measurements, and takes photographs of work performed to support the development of record drawings.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Position requires full knowledge and adherence to QA standards, plans and specifications. Ability to maintain a daily job log with clear written communications.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate construction activities with the owner and represent McFarland Johnson and the Project Owner in a professional manner is a must.
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of NHDOT specifications and testing requirements for LPA projects.
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years professional experience in roadway construction inspection experience required.
- In-depth knowledge of construction practices, techniques, NHDOT specifications, and LPA regulations.
- NHDOT LPA certification is preferred . NHDOT LPA Certification will be required as soon as possible.
- Valid driver's license in good standing and reliable transportation to job site location.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve construction-related issues.
