Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Instructor

Location: Pima Medical Institute - Denver Campus | On-Site

Position Type: Part-Time (20 Hours/Week) | Day Shift

Compensation: $34.11 – $42.63 per hour

We're looking for a credentialed Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant who's ready to step into a rewarding part-time instructor role — one that lets you keep your skills sharp while making a real difference in students' lives and careers.

Key Responsibilities:

No two days are exactly alike, but here's what you can expect:

Implementing and evaluating daily lesson plans including scheduled activities, materials, and semester objectives.
Preparing and delivering lectures, labs, and practical demonstrations for students in class and individually.
Monitoring student attendance and coordinating with the Associate Director when absences occur two days in a row; preparing weekly attendance reports.
Meeting with students to encourage retention and maintaining an 80% student success rate for all classes taught.
Evaluating student performance, maintaining grades per established policies, and preparing final grades at the end of each semester.
Assisting and advising students with OTA program curriculum and providing supervision when necessary.
Evaluating students' clinical performance and assisting with externship coordination as needed.
Participating in projects, committee work, and program planning to support department goals.

Minimum Requirements:

Active OT or OTA credential, licensed or otherwise regulated in the state of Colorado.
Associate's degree or higher from a regionally or nationally accredited institution recognized by the USDE.
Graduation from an accredited OT or OTA program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or CHEA.
Minimum 3 years of occupational experience in the field of Occupational Therapy or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Documented expertise in areas of teaching responsibility.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

A Few Things to Know:

You'll work in a classroom and lab setting with exposure to biohazardous materials (blood, saliva) — standard for the field.
The role requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and use standard office equipment.
